The apps that bring beauty to you

We all live busy lives. Getting to the hairdressers/nail salon/massage parlour (if that’s still a thing) takes time, effort and some organisation skills, little of which we have. The answer? Beauty apps. From the best manis and pedis to facials and massages all from the comfort of your own home; here are the best we’ve come across:

Ruuby goes far beyond most other beauty concierge apps. Not only does it offer the standard blow dries and spray tans, but you can now get juice cleanses and vitamin drips delivered straight to your door. Not to mention a consultation with Pippa Middleton’s go-to hair guy, Ronnie, for Balmain hair extensions. Backed by none other than Richard Branson, the app also plays host to some seriously talented professionals, including Anna Wintour’s hair stylist and Suki Waterhouse’s makeup artist. If that doesn’t convince you, when Ruuby sent a manicurist rounds to ours, we watched Love Island together and gossiped about Kem and Amber… The D.R.E.A.M.

With a plethora of beauty apps out there, there’s something incredibly comforting about knowing that Beautii is partnered with Carol Hayes Management – a top tier London booking agency that provides makeup artists, hair stylists and manicurists for huge editorial photo shoots. They vet all of the professionals before they’re allowed to knock on your door. That’s one big seal of approval.

Perfect 10

From Beyonce-loved Natura Bisse facials to Sienna X spray tans (one to ‘contour’ i.e. create the illusion of some kind of ab – yes please), waxing, the best lash extensions and Essie manicures and pedicures, there is pretty much no beauty service that Perfect 10 doesn’t offer. The ‘elite’ side of the app, Perfect 10 Black Label, offers a 24-hour service – 5am blow dries no problem – and you can get a personal trainer to take you through your evening HIIT workout or boxing sesh at the tap of a button. Add to that the offering of treatments for men and you’ve got a great all-rounder.

Blow LTD

True to its name, Blow do a bloody good blow dry – quick, efficient and exactly how you want it, whether that be bouncy, sleek, voluminous or all three. Getting ready for a night out? They also offer group blow dries for you and your friends, which makes hair prep that little bit easier. Manicures are another forte, along with lymphatic drainage massage (to de-puff and streamline) and yoga and pilates classes.

The Glam App

Already a beauty app giant in the States, Glam was created by Cara Santana (off of ‘getting married to fit Jesse Metcalfe’) and celeb stylist Joey Maalouf, and now it’s here in the UK to bless our fingers, toes, hair and faces with its excellent therapists. When we tried the gel mani, not only did we enjoy the longest lasting shellac ever, heard all the tricks of the trade (nail-wise), but our therapist also regularly frequents the Little Mix girls’ house. Let’s just say no stone was left unturned.
