Clinique Even Better Glow Light Reflecting Makeup SPF15, £27

I don’t like to wear anything too heavy on my face – it has something to do with not wanting to look to fake. If I look too perfect, then I won’t look like me – coz I’m anything but perfect my friends. Clinique’s new Even Better Glow Light Reflecting base is my idea of heaven – it’s lightweight and does exactly what is says on the tin: makes you glow (in a stunning dewy way, not a shimmery pixie way). Plus they haven’t forgotten about skincare - it has an SPF 15, it improves skin tone and discolouration and they’ve swapped oil for salicylic acid, so if you suffer from spots this is going to be right up your street. Dreamy.

Skinny Dip Tequila Sunrise Shut The Contour Brush Set, £28

The other day, I walked past a woman who’d got contouring so wrong I had to refrain myself from going up to her and blending in the dark splodge on the side of her face. The thing is, I get it. Contouring is a bugger. You can watch a thousand tutorials on YouTube and still end up looking like a tiger. Which is why this Skinnydip London contour brush set is so useful as it’s essentially a brush-by-brush approach to contouring. Each one has a name for the step that it plays in the contour routine. I start with C1, a super soft and fluffy brush, to dust bronzer onto my hairline and browbone. Next I use C2, which is short and stubby, to apply bronzer to the hollows of my cheek bones. This is followed by the flat C3, which is meant for blending everything in. Do not forget this step. And finally to finish it off I use C4 to apply my blusher to the apples of my cheeks. It’s a bit like painting by numbers.

Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color in Regal, £24

If you’re a regular reader of this column, in which case thank you kindly, then you will know that I love a red lipstick and very rarely stray from this colour. But as we move into cooler climates I find myself opting for darker shades and berry tones. This Bobbi Brown lippie is ideal. It goes on like any old lipstick, but it’s the stain that it leaves on the lip that makes this a winner. You can put it on in the morning, before you leave the house, and you can continue to layer it throughout the day or leave it wear off slightly and you get that great ‘recently kissed’ look. Oh and did I mention that it’s called Regal, which I have always considered one of my most identifying qualities.

Michael Kors Sexy Ruby EDP, from £46 for 30ml

OK, before we begin, I have to say that I am wholeheartedly against the name of this fragrance. Anything with the word sexy in it tends to makes me cringe and I’m turned off instantly. Luckily for Mr Kors, the juice inside this bottle deserves a chance. It’s slightly sweet thanks to the raspberry and apricot notes, but it’s the pepperiness that really solidifies this as an autumnal fragrance winner. Dare I say that it smells slightly of Christmas?!

Christopher Kane for NARS Chrome Couture Collection, from £23

I cannot afford to buy anything by Christopher Kane. I have no idea how anyone is able to. If you own a Christopher Kane garment, what is it that you do? What job do you have? I wonder if I could do that job? Thankfully, there is now a way to own a little bit of the Kane. The designer has partnered up with makeup giant, NARS, to create a lipstick and eyeshadow palette that reflects his fashion collection. Just like his designs, it’s high pigment, high shine and high fashion. I am in love with this palette. I’m sure you all know by now that I am a complete sucker for a bit of glitter (you should see me at festivals – it’s bordering on embarrassing the amount that I wear) and as soon as my eyes landed on this I knew that I had to have it. I dust it on during the day and wear it wet at night for a more intense shine. Join the waiting list now…
