` An honest review of Erborian's BB Cream |
The unsung hero of BB creams

Finding a good BB cream is no easy feat; it’s much like finding a good pair of jeans. It needs to be a perfect fit, simultaneously flattering what you’ve got, while waving a magic wand over trouble areas. It’s often the case that you’ll have to try a fair few on for size until you find your Holy Grail pairing. But friends, the search is over.

You’ve heard everyone raving about Erborian’s CC Crème. It’s the French-Korean juggernaut that retailers struggle to keep in stock. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that its sister, the BB Crème, is just as amazing. Incredible, even. If the CC crème were Beyoncé, the BB crème would be Solange.

First things first. This is a 5-in-1 multi-tasker. It contains SPF20 to help guard skin from UV damage and contains ginseng, licorice and ginger that work in tandem to detoxify, reduce inflammation and revitalize the complexion. This is a BB cream that works with your skin, not against it. I can safely say that my skin tone and texture looks better after wearing this religiously for months; my acne scars have faded faster and my skin is noticeably smoother.

As for the texture, it’s velvety yet creamy and glides on beautifully, even sans-brush. It’s not oily but it does deliver the hydration where it’s needed, blurring imperfections and smoothing pores and wrinkles in its wake, before drying down on the skin for satin-like finish. While on oily complexions it does get rather dewy, it doesn’t separate and can be topped up if needed, thanks to the versatile buildability. Prefer a lighter touch? A sheer layer works wonders. Need a bit more coverage? Go ahead and dial it up – it never cakes.

It’s also indestructible, surviving the hottest-hell of the Central line in Summer to the moisture-zapping air-con of your office, it doesn’t sweat off, cling to dry patches or oxidise. I even wore this during a half marathon and it still looked as glowy and flawless at the finish line as when it was freshly applied.

What’s more, at £36 for 45ml, it will literally last you for-ever. I wear this most days and it has lasted for months – you only need a teeny blob. Or, you can test it out with a 15ml size for a less-scary £15 that’s very handy for travelling. It currently comes in four shades, so I hope Erborian will extend this range so everyone can enjoy this hero product. And as for the hunt for the perfect pair of jeans? We’re still searching…
