If you’re seriously into fashion, then you’ll know that Alessandro Michele has been killing it as Gucci’s creative director for the past two years. If you don’t, it’s likely that you’ve unknowingly picked up some high street pieces, which have been inspired (some would argue copied) by his work. He is the industry’s current wunderkind and when it was announced that he would be releasing his own fragrance for the fashion house it’s been non-stop chitter chatter.

Today is the day that the world gets to have a whiff of Bloom and we can confirm that it is a delight to the senses. It’s a stunning combo of some of the most beautiful smelling white flowers: tuberose, jasmine and the lesser known Rangoon Creeper, which starts out white and gradually blooms into a deep red. It smells a little bit granny-esque at first (white flowers tend to err on the side of talc), but when you think about how his collections are so often inspired by past-eras, it works really well. Once it settles onto the skin, you’ll smell like a wild flower meadow for hours on end. Which is a very good thing by the way.

We have no doubt that the fragrance will do well – fashion-fiends will want to get their mitts on the latest bit of Gucci and there are very few who will be able to resist the tug of the ultra-Instagrammable millennial-pink flagon. Swoon.

It launches exclusively with Harrods today and nationwide from 1st September.
