Welcome back to the final instalment of our Powder Beauty Awards! Have you seen the previous weeks? You need all of the body products, every single one of the make-up winners and you’ll die of excitement when you see the skincare lot. This week we’ve championed the hair styling heroes that give us magnificent manes worth swishing. Without any further ado, here are our hair favourites…

Dry shampoo

1st Hair by Sam McKnight Lazy Girl Dry Shampoo, £19

Dry shampoos have come a long way since their chalky inception, but Sam McKnight’s dry shampoo is the crème de la crème. The powder is incredibly fine so deposits evenly into your roots - no white patches with this one - and it immediately soaks up excess oil, so you can hit refresh on your style. It also gives hair lift, volume and texture, all in one, chic, totally Instagrammable blue can.

The addictive herbaceous scent is to die for, meaning your hair will feel and smell just-washed too. We’re all a Lazy Girl when it comes to washing our hair?

2nd Evo Water Killer Dry Shampoo

We love a dual-purpose product here at Powder, and Evo’s is both a dry shampoo and a styling spray – and it excels at both. Coupled with their ethos to save water when we wash our hair, this is one bottle and concept we can get on board with.

3rd Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo

Not only is the squeezy bottle innovative, but it will always decant just the right amount of product, meaning you’ll never overdo it. Soaks up grease like a dream too.

Hair Tools

1st Parlux Advanced Light Ceramic Ionic Dryer, £99.95

Turns hair drying from a chore into a pleasure. Hair professionals use it  (which is a brilliant sign), but it’s very lightweight for home use too (no arm workout with this one) and folds away for easy storage or popping in your suitcase – you won’t want to leave home without it.

It’s got clever ionic technology that radiates heat within your hair follicles to not only dry it faster but also create less static and frizz. There are plenty of settings to switch between so no matter what style you’re going for you can achieve it with minimal fuss.

2nd GHD Curve, £120

Hands down the best way to achieve the perfect curls that really do hold their shape all day and night. It heats up quickly and the barrel is the ideal size for classic, envy-worthy curls.

3rd Aquis Hair Towel, £30

Wrapping your hair in this microfiber towel halves hair drying time – even if you prefer to air-dry your hair. And anything that can save us precious hair-drying time is a winner in our books.

Hair Styling and Treatments

1st BLEACH Rosé Shampoo

Our favourite kind of rosé if you ask us. This pink hued potion adds a wash of pastel rose to bleached or light blonde hair for two to ten washes, meaning you can frolic with a little colour without the commitment and faff of colouring your hair permanently. It also counteracts unwanted green tones in your hair to restore your colour back to its former glory. All in one hair wash!

2nd Byredo Hair Perfume

It’s Byredo – need we say more? By far the chicest way to wear your fragrance (your hair also holds scent better than skin, so it’s win-win). The formula diffuses scent throughout the day, so, much to the delight of anyone in your vicinity, you’ll leave a subtle waft of fragrance whenever you swish.

3rd Sachajuan Ocean Mist Spray

As heavenly as it sounds, Sachajuan’s Ocean Mist is a hybrid between a salt-spray and hairspray to add texture and oomph to your hair. Smells just like a day at the beach too.

1st Oribe Free Styler Working Hairspray

Oh Oribe, you never let us down. And this hairspray is a real hard worker. It keeps hair exactly where you want it all day and night, yet it brushes straight out when you need it to. The mist is very fine so you can build it up to a strong hold without it going crunchy. As for the finish, it dries instantly on your hair and leaves a satin sheen that makes you feel very expensive indeed.

2nd L’Oreal Elnett Hairspray

It’s a classic for a reason. It has a strong hold without making your hair feel stiff. Watch your hairbrush glide as you brush it away.

3rd Ouai Soft Hairspray

As light as a feather and perfect for day-to-day styles, it mists your hair with the perfect hold to keep your mane tamed without ever feeling heavy. Bonus points for smelling amazing too.
